About Remunio

Understanding what a salary costs in France, and what it is really worth.

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Remunio.fr is an independent site offering free French payroll simulators. It answers a simple question that is surprisingly hard to settle: starting from a gross salary, how much does the employee actually receive, and how much does the employer pay in total?

Between URSSAF contributions, the AGIRC-ARRCO supplementary pension, rates that change with the level of pay and the size of the company, the answer takes a dozen intermediate calculations. We have gathered them into two readable simulators that show the breakdown line by line rather than a single final figure.

What Remunio does

The site currently offers two tools and a documentation base:

  • A net salary simulator: from monthly gross pay (or an hourly rate) to net pay before withholding tax, with the employee contributions broken down.
  • An employer contributions simulator: the detail of URSSAF and AGIRC-ARRCO employer charges, and the total cost of an employee to the company.
  • Explanatory articles on the payslip, contract types and contribution ceilings.
  • No data collection: the amounts you enter are used for the calculation and are neither stored nor sold. No account is required.

Who the site is for

We write for three audiences in particular:

  • Employees and candidates who want to convert a gross offer into net pay, or check the order of magnitude of the lines on their payslip.
  • Small and medium businesses that need to budget a hire or a pay rise and need the full employer cost, not just the gross figure.
  • Foreign employers recruiting in France and discovering a contribution system with no equivalent in their home country.

How our calculations are established

The rates applied come from the schedules published by official bodies: URSSAF for social security contributions, AGIRC-ARRCO for the supplementary pension, and service-public.fr for the general regulatory framework.

Some parameters vary from one company to another and cannot be guessed by a simulator. That is notably the case for the work-accident rate (AT/MP), which depends on the employer's activity and claims history: we use an indicative value of 3.88%, flagged as such in the results. When we are not certain of a figure, we say so rather than inventing it.

What Remunio is not

Remunio is neither an accounting firm nor a legal or tax advisory service. Our simulators produce estimates intended to inform a decision, not enforceable payslips or social declarations. For a specific case — a particular collective agreement, exemptions, a cross-border situation — speak to a chartered accountant, your payroll department or URSSAF.

What comes next

These simulators are the first step in a larger project: payroll tools for employers, in particular payslip generation and support for nominative social declarations (DSN). The site will remain free and accessible without sign-up.
